Based on the true events — “The Killing of Kenneth Chamberlain” will have its World-Premiere at the Austin Film Festival this October.
With lead performance by Frankie Faison — “Kenneth Chamberlain” tells the true story of an elderly African American veteran with bipolar disorder is killed during a conflict with police officers who were dispatched to check on him.
David Midell writes and directs his second feature film, after “NightLights,” a film following a family with autism, which sold to the Lifetime Movie Network. Midell worked closely with the family of Chamberlain to expose a tragic event, and highlight the urgent work still to be done involving race, mental illness, and prejudice in American politics and law enforcement.
